I got this error

PHP Notice:  Undefined index:  directory in /home/alan/develop/Software/akelos/script/setup on line 37

while trying the steps in http://www.linuxformat.co.uk/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=6327

I cut and pasted part of this article into a local file for reference, which I'm attaching. I took the part that begins with "First thing to do is setup Ubuntu's Apache to correctly use mod_rewrite." I am using Fedora 7 rather than Ubuntu, but I understand the differences. From that point, I got down to this part, which begins on line 12: "Create a softlink to this directory from /var/www: sudo ln -s /home/dan/akelos /var/www/akelos (use your own home directory name of course)

Now if you go to http://localhost/akelos you'll get the 'Welcome aboard' screen.

I didn't. I got a "403 Forbidden". While trying to find out what might be wrong, I went to my akelos directory and executed ./akelos. This is where I got the error in the first line of this post.

I have more to comment about, but I think it's better to put them in separate posts for easier reference.
