I've been through the Akelos documentation and unlike CakePHP there isnt any sort of "soft delete" built into the system. What I mean by "soft delete" is having a database column on every table labeled "deleted" that is a boolean ( 0 or 1) which marks the record as deleted. Then activerecord object need only return records that have deleted=0. I and my friend have been able to achieve this by creating a custom database adapter which overrides the select function as adds the "deleted=0" to all queries plus modifying the base active record object to modify the destroy() function so that records are not actually deleted but sets "deleted=1".

Is anyone out there in the process of creating the Soft Delete functionilty so that it comes "boxed" with Akelos?
